Does anyone listen to them? It's another one of Mike Patton's side projects.
I posted some lyrics in the pub from one of their more inane songs and I think the Pub is having a hard time dealing with it.
Any fans?

I enjoy some of their stuff, but some of there other music is just really weird, to the point where I don't enjoy it.

umm... i wouldnt really call mr bungle his side band. More like his original band. Faith No More was kind of his "selling out" to make money and fame to do what he really wanted. Bungle has been around for a while. Also, Mike Patton isnt the brains behind it, i used to think he was a God because of all the projects he was in, but really he was just a name that everyone knew, so the rest of the members were lost in obscurity. The real brains and talent behind Bungle is Trey Spruance (and some trevor Dunn). They have now officially broken up i think. If you want to hear a much better band, listen to mr bungle without Mike Patton.... called Secret Chiefs 3, which has now grown to include the best of the best artists on the latest album "Book of Horizons". Patton is still great, its just i busted my own bubble in furthering my music progression and digging deeper into the whole band and not just labelling it as "Mike pattons band".
You can check out Trey Spruances label website @ www.webofmimicry.com which has some of the most talented and original bands ever.... (estradasphere, danubius, ISS and sleepy time gorrila museum)

Thanks for the info. I'll keep an eye out for that band without Mike.

check out Carla Kihlstedt's solo album "Two Foot Yard" on Zorn's Tzadik label. she's the vocalist/violinist from SGM and is simply amazing. she was also with Tin Hat Trio who are also incredible. it's not that calculated insanity of SGM but is definitely a nice change and very proficient playing but a bit more mellow for when you don't feel like fully digesting SGM. also, see them live if you get a chance. they just toured the U.S. recently.

Secret Chiefs 3 is still cranking out albums, growing bigger and better as it goes. There is a whole cult following , almost literally, about the puzzle that is SC3 in its entirety. It took me quite a while to track down the magnitude of this puzzle, and I didnt figure it all out by myself, but in doing so, i learned a shitload about various religions, especially Islam. There is a whole website which lays it all out now.
http://www.matthewrooney.com/haqq/firstbylaws.html
Basically the riddle starts out at First GCaB and goes all the way into Book of Horizons. If you purchase Book M you will see the Rosetta Stone of the riddle, which is another riddle of its own. It is like Trey Spruance left this detailed map of the track of his personal pursuit of knowledge within his songs and albums. Sometimes I think he is onto something so grand and epic it boggles me. I havent figured out all the relations of Book of Horizons to the riddle, but it lies mainly in the layout of the cd, song titles and the "sub-group" names of the 7 bands, or combinations of musicians, which goes more into the riddle.

I remember that Mr. Bungle shirt - There's A Tractor In My Balls -
Of course I love Mr. Bungle, California is really good
Anyone got Mike Patton's Adult Themes For Voice? It's, well, interesting what he can do with his voice, a microphone, a four track and a toilet (?).
