I was strolling through the park one day...
On a very merry month of May..
When I was taken by surprise!
By a pair of Cube-ee Psi's!
In the merry merry month of May!

Possibly, it could also be a related species. But versicolor is indeed a possibility.

versicolor is a medicinal mushroom.
if it is versicolor you can boil it in water for tea.
the tea will have psk(anticancer) and psp(antiHIV) in it.
but I hope you do not have cancer\HIV

Damn, I was hoping that at least one of these species I found would be edible.

Are you serious? If you're looking for edibles, I think you should start by learning about the edible species that grow in your area. Of all the mushroom species, only a very small percentage is edible. Even less are psycho-active. So the chance that you find something useful (and recognize it as such) is minimal if you don't know what to look for.

The mushroom in the pictures resembles versicolor a bit, but there's absolutely no evidence that these mushrooms are actually the mentioned species. There are many species that look more or less the same, even from totally different genera. So don't go and boil these things, unless your 100% sure that this is versicolor. This goes for consumption of all mushrooms btw.
