What do you think of Deep Space Nine?

I am a Next Generation girl myself, watched all the episodes many times. I LOVE TNG. I remember being a little kid and watching TNG with my dad on nights after he came home from work.

But I think it's time to move onto something new. Obviously I won't have the nostalgia with Deep Space 9 like I do with TNG. But is it any good? What are your honest feelings on it?

It grows on you; they had a good series especially near the end (their points on war were pretty spot on) and if you listen to how Odo describes the "Great Link", it sounds like one of us ranting about shrooms :smile: :mushroom2:

DS9 is a real soap like series.. It's okay.. Less adventures, more soap.

Not a big Trek fan but there's a great episode (think it's called Trials and Tribulations) where they go back in time and participate in the original Trek Trouble With Tribbles episode. Quite cleverly done to have them chatting with Kirk et al and using all the retro effects and fashions.

Startrek is soap for intelects, impo.

I liked battlestar galactica more (only because of the cool robots).  :smirk:

DS9 is OK, TNG is better

I havent been impressed with "Voyager" tho.

I do like the new series "Enterprise"

I liked Deep Space 9 quite a bit. There were a lot of really good episodes.

But yeah, Voyager and the new one are crap.

The first half the of the DS9 series sucks.... however, the second half, when they really get the characters' personalities down to a science and the dominion starts to invade the alpha quadrant.... Hell, second half of DS9 is better than any TNG IMHO.... and this is coming from a die-hard TNG fan. DS9 just gets so epic, and the characters are so good (Garek, anyone?). There's a few episodes in the latter half that are a tad drama heavy, which I could do without, but for the most part it's an epic space opera, a classic good/evil battle with plenty of twists to keep it interesting.

Im not a huge trek fan by any means but TNG is the only ones i can watch and enjoy.

THey need to give riker his own ship. He is always pimpen on chicks and what not.
