Re: Happiness is Overrated [Re: grphish]

yeah, some people like it.. thats when they obviously haven't been hurt by it long enough or bad enough. when you're in horrible pain, mental or physical.. for a long time, you would feel differently. People that can like it haven't felt it unbareably, because when it is unbareable then it's obviously not good. And that is how it is for real people with real and real bad unhappiness. as far as im concerned, someone how can still like being depressed hasn't felt it nearly as bad as the real unhappy people have. because they would do anything to not feel that also.
Those stupid fuckers have no fucking idea.

Happiness isn't all it's cracked up to be. Bright colors aside, it seems just like lies and disappointment; the meadow that's really a plateau before your cliff. Don't try to force yourself into happiness. Don't take pills, don't follow religions. Embrace bitterness and spit in the dirt and harden your soul and become the antagonist. Sacrifice yourself for safety. Happiness shouldn't be a pathetic attempt to please others. If one day, you walk into laughter, then do smile, don't smother happiness, but if you're sad, be sad and break and create things. Don't deny yourself the pleasure, oblivion of pain. Sadness is a weighty reminder of worthlessness, and that's an individual's greatest gift: insignificance. Eat up your trauma and destroy yourselves, milking emotions. Happiness is hard, fleeting work. Sadness a warm stone to lie on. Sure, depression is ridiculous. Those high kids moping, dragging their sight against the ground; it surely is funny to the centered mind; the displeasure seems so uncalled for. But everything should be uncalled for. Depression, a surprising, enveloping shadow. Laughter, the little stumble in your steps as you trip. Each with its own benefits and worth. I?m not saying to make yourselves unhappy, but don?t refuse it, it?ll just make things worse.

your thread just made my day (night). thank you.

A person who like being "depressed" once in awhile are of course not really depressed, because they're just in that state because they themself choose to be there. A depressed person can't feel happiness, just because their best friend takes them out to a good movie. There's a big difference between wanting to feel sad and contemplative, and actually feeling depressed.

Most definitely  Those people are fake. They have no idea what it's really like. And if they knew, they would do anything they could to escape it.

Wouldn't it be great if everyone in this thread could just take a nice long 3 hour walk together so that we could talk and feel better?
