Cool mist air exchange question

I have a 50 gal. Rubbermaid tub for my terrarium. I have a ultrasonic for humidity and a fish tank air pump for the air. I dont think the pump is cutting it because my shrooms are kinda thin. My question is, if I get a Cool Mist, will this take care of the air exchange and the humidity? And could someone please give me a link to the cool mist im gonna need so I know what it looks like? Thanks

i was definitely under the impression an ultrasonic provides plenty of gas exchange.. maybe too much water in the air getting pumped in. Whats yer temp?

My temp is about 74. Im using Golden Teacher and my stems are about 5cm. in diameter. This does mean i need better air exchange, right?

it might not be an air exchange problem. Do you have a hygrometer in your terrarium? I'd be curious to know what your RH is. And how do you have the air hose installed in the tub? Is it like a PMP set up with geolite/perlite and water or do you just have the hose running into the tub? Plus, an ultrasonic is sometimes overkill especially in a small tub... You might be able to suffice with the geolite/water/airstone combination alone. I have no PMP experience though, so don't just take my word for it.

and bixo, depending on type, ultrasonics can provide air exchange. except they can over saturate the air very quickly, so they should only be run for 15-30 mins at a time every couple of hours. That's usually not enough air exchange so cool mists or air pumps are run in conjunction with the ultrasonics to take up the slack.

Ha ha I mean 5mm some or 4mm. My setup is a 50gal Tub with an ultrasonic and a fish tank pump with a 3 inch air stone. the air stone sits on the bottom of the tub. I run the ultrasonic 2 times a day(when i wake up and then once when i go to sleep) for about 2 min. I dont have a hygrometer. Where can i get a really good one? Do you think its a good idea to put a couple small holes at the bottom of the tub and stuff them with polyfil?

Well i just got back from Lowes. I bought an acurite temp/humidity. I put the thing in my fruiting chamber and it read 73%. So i turned the ultrasonic for a couple of min. like a usually do and it got to 80%. I had to leave the humidifier on for 3 more min. before the meter read HI. I will be getting a timer tomorrow so hopefully this works. Thank you for all of the replies.

what are yolu fruiting? 1inch of BRF or 6 inches of poop and straw?

This is a major factor in shroom size.

I just checked the temp in my fruiting because i realized i have not checked it in a couple of weeks or so and its 68.5. Does this need to be higher?

yes, much higher. mid 70s to low 80s is preferable.

.5 inches in a 50gal rubbermaid, and BRF at that? I think thats your problem right there... I'm guessing these are in individual trays, which is still a bit shallow, but if thats across the whole bottom of the rubbermaid its WAY too shallow.
