quick casing question

if i sterilize the vermiculite on the bottom of the tray i am using in the microwave, how long should i micro wave it? if i use like .5 inches? this is my first time casing.

I think 5 min? Read a microwave tek in the grow/find section, it should give you an idea...

I make it in 5 min plus a pause, then more 2 min, just to be sure.

vermiculite doesn't have any nutrients so as long as you take general precautions like spraying your area with lysol, using clean hands etc, you shouldn't have to sterilize it from what I have read.. but I guess it can't hurt anything either. Good luck.
