I think this means that psilocybin is breaking down into psilocin. Basically, psilocybin and psilocin are the same, so there isn't a loss of potency.

When you dry shrooms it depends on the strain. On average most only lose 2 milligrams of psylocybin and 3 milligrams of psylocin which is not that much so there is no loss of potency basically restating what shiznitz said. in some species though you can lose all the psylocin when drying. Thats why i eat them FRESH!!!!!!!

Actually psilocin is the less stable of the two, and you usually lose a good percentage of it when drying. The bluing is the oxidation of the psilocin. Psilocybin is converted to psilocin in the body though so essentially they are the same thing.
