Vacation Question
    #377350 - 08/23/01 08:45 PM (23 years, 5 months ago)

Hello,

I am new here and had a quick question for one of the more experienced cultivators. I birthed 7 cakes using the PFTek method into a 10 gallon aquarium using perlite for humidity. This was 5 days ago. My humidity gauge is a crappy cheap thing that always says 80%, but as condensation is dripping down the inside of the glass at all times I think it is much higher. Anyway.. I am leaving town for about 48 hours. If I leave it alone for 48 with no air exchanges am I screwed?? Am I better off removing the cover to let CO2 out at the expense of losing all humidity??? What is my best course of action?? None of the cakes have pinned yet if this makes any difference. If they do die.. how can you tell?? I am leaving tomorrow, so the sooner one could reply to this the better. Thanks,

WG

hey buddy,

try this. First make one ,1/2 inch , hole on each side of your container at the same level as you scoby snacks, then tape a coffee filter or something like that over the holes. this should provide you with better air exchange. if the humidy gets too low, cover a hole. you can also put some holes in the lid if the sides are glass.

Or try hawk tank set up with fish pump.

hope this info helps.
