Good single coil pickups for metal?

I recently aquired a handmade guitar which is the best guitar I have ever owned for shredding. The action is less than 1 mm with no fretbuzz, and plays better than my jackson soloist. Anyway, I put in some Hot rails pickups, but I'm still not satisfied with the low end I get out of the guitar. I don't want to modify the guitar, so I am looking for some good single coil pickups for low end, does anyone have any suggestions?

Low end also comes from the amp and the wood the guitar is made from, it's possible that getting solid low end will be very difficult, especially from a single coil pickup
