books and reading

I love the stir of mind school can bring about. Not only in class, but rather time reading, opening many doors and imaginations. With books you can think thoughts you never would have thought of yourself. You can be in that place and learn workings of someones mind.
What else would build the human consciousness that way?
Before the time of reading and bibles, religion was inner, consisting of many hours of self reflection and external observations. Imagine how it could have been to a much greater extent than todays followers would consider it to be spiritual to have existed ten thousand years ago.
Perhaps reading takes people farther away from the truth, the self reflection. It fills the mind with easy thoughts, and creates forces from pen and paper. Just look at the turn religion took when print became available..
So who was right them or us, and are the evolutions humanity is making the ones leading to a pleasant outcome?
Of course not! The earth will end how it began, whether in my life, or more likely millions of years down the road.
So what does reading have to do with all that :confused: :stoned:  :smirk:

Hmmmmm, interesting post, I'm not too sure who was right......I do love to read though, you learn a lot from reading, although you need to take everything you read with a grain of salt. It's one of the better ways to work your imagination, unfortunately, people don't read enough these days.
