How many people here beleive you can communicate with the dead? Has anyone ever recorded ghost? Is this worth bidding on?

I think when somebody is dead, they're dead and maybe living somewhere else in another life, but within your own mind you can communicate with "memories" of them weather you met them or not in life. I also think this works collectively with other people sometimes, but only when everyone involved in the "ghost" communication is on a similar train of though.

however, i dont think you can communicate with the "dead" from an item off ebay selling for 5 dollars.

Hey, can't go wrong for 5 dollars eh? I'd get it just to fool around with it. Who cares? it's only 5 dollars. I think that whatever you hear in white noise is what you want to hear, if you don't believe, you probably won't hear anything, if you do believe, you probably will hear a lot. Just my 2 cents. I believe.

what? theres sites out there where you can hear that for free....and you can also go out there with just a mini cassete recorder and it will work fine too.,

I'm not a Super Bible thumper type, but, I've seen MUCH wisdom come from that book. To be short, two things to consider. The world is covered with millions of spirits, that have ALWAYS been just that, and nothing more. Some are "good" some are "bad." The good ones are forbidden from any form of direct contact with you, the bad ones would rather enjoy getting inside your head. I've in times past, played with a Ouija board, a direct conduit for them to mess in your mind. They love to lie, and will, again, and again to you. These "familiar spirits" are just that, they have seen everything, since the beginning of time. This is why, they know your dead grannies name, dates and the like. If you ask the board if there is a God, it will tell you NO in anger, every time. They CAN'T know the future, but use the past to convince YOU that they do. Before YOU know it, your allowing an EVIL force to hold great power over your life!! EVP's would thus fall into the same niche' IF our dear departed ones, have ANY way of "watching" us, they would not have ANY ability to contact us. I've also, seen ghosts in my dead grannies home, and, as above, the same concept is at work. Familiar spirits. I too, find magic, spirits and the like of great interest. The Bible even admits that there is something to it, but to fear them, and steer clear of them. So easy does it with stuff like this

These things do work to a certain degree..You can pick up voices, not sure what they are. I use Cool Edit to clean them up.

I have recorded EVP as well. Hell I had a recording session last night and I'm having one tonight too. Call me crazy, but I really don't think those are the dead :crazy2:

Here is a sample from my last night's session. Hear anything? (Turn it to the max and listen a couple of times) Could be Ciao! (this phrase is also used in my country and it was recorded 3 seconds after i said my greetings to my 'imaginary' conversation partners) Could be anything. But it's something. Out of clean white noise.

Talking about shortwave numbers stations - check out The Conet Project (click on the picture)...



The Conet Project is an encyclopedic document of the mysterious and uncanny broadcasts from numbers stations. A number station anonymously transmits synthesized voices reading sets of phonetic letters and/or numbers. While there is no organization that has yet claimed responsibility for these transmissions, it is assumed that the CIA, MI6 (British Secret Intelligence Service), MOSSAD (Israeli Intelligence Service), and the renamed KGB are among those who operate the numbers stations. It is also assumed that these transmissions are encoded with a "one time pad" cryptosystem which uses a string of random numbers for both encryption and decryption. Assumption and innuendo surround these transmissions, but the conspiracy theories alone do not do justice to the aural terror that these transmissions invoke. The lo-fi shortwave radio hiss, the calculated recital of German numbers by a Swedish girl, the music box which punctuates the beginnings and ends of these transmission, and the incomprehensibility of "the Buzzer" (a mechanized pulse which buzzes 24 hours a day shifting in frequency at the top of every hour) have all of the makings for a Throbbing Gristle track, yet it is precisely the lack of intent in creating aural terror that gives these recordings substance. The breadth of this anthology provides the alternate listening experience of the texture, as the incessant rhythms of these voices in conjunction with the monochromatic shortwave radio hiss combines for a beautiful yet abject drone that may work within Brian Eno's late 70's definition of ambient (albeit a subliminally suggestive one). Warning! This record is certainly not for everybody.
