After reading an earlier post,i got to thinking a lot about this.My parents are 77 years old, sometimes i look at them and think, you might not be here next year, but maybe their bugging me, for some blah blah, reason,so i leave. One day i will beg to be bugged, but they wont be there,i just mean, don't take anyone for granted, and also, for all you parents out there, get your kids a pet, especially a devoted dog, that doesn't care what you got up to night before, to get them used to the real deal.

So, you're suggesting that all kids get a puppy to teach them about their own grim mortality?
I also suggest that parents get their children an ant farm, so they can learn about the trudgery of everyday life and the harsh reality of constant, thankless toil.

-------------------- Annnnnnd I had a light saber and my friend was there and I said "you look like an indian" and he said "you look like satan" and he found a stick and a rock and he named the rock ooga booga and he named the stick Stick and we both thought that was pretty funny. We got eaten alive by mosquitos but didn't notice til the next day. I stepped on some glass while wading in the swamp and cut my foot open, didn't bother me til the next day either....yeah it was a good time, ended the night by buying some liquor for minors and drinking nips and going to he diner and eating chicken fingers, and then I went home and went to bed.

The death of my friend has really made me realize how how day my parents will be gone too. I try not to think about it too much. But I have felt so much affection and love for them in these past few days.

My mom died suddenly at age 45. I was only 22. It did not have the effect I expected. I was very close with my mother and I loved her more than just about anyone else in the world at the time. But all I felt was mostly numb. And empty.
I still miss her a decade and a half later.
