opiates & white poop !

even a smallish does of opiates gives me this symptom, is my liver hopelessly fucked ?

what can I do ? :confused:

I dont think its your liver....probably a side effect of the constipation opiates causes.

I was trying to help him. That link I provided was legitamate and contained actual info on why his poop might be white. It sucks that some ego-tripping mod has to delete my legit posts to get off, but hey, to each his own.

Unless you were a bird, this is the only info from the site that refers to white poop:

One can experience white poop after consuming a barium milkshake for the purposes of getting an x-ray of the upper gastrointestinal tract.

Do you drink alot milkshakes?...Ive never heard of white turds from opiates and Im sure if it is a common symptom, somebody would have posted it on this board

You should really get some testing done as this can be a sign of many SERIOUS liver disease and even liver failure.Its not something to be taken lightly.You dont have to mention drug use but get an appointment ASAP and explain the symptoms.Its better to have the tests run on your liver and have them come back fine than to ignore it and wait and end up with a horrible situation.

Is there any yellowing of the skin and eyes?Other symptoms such as s upset stomach (nausea), a tired feeling all the time (fatigue) or vomiting, fever, or insomnia?These are more advanced symptoms.Its still a good idea to get checked out even if you have none of these symptoms.

i would add, if asked specificaly and directly, do be honest about drug use. a doctor wouldn't ask specificaly unless it mattered.

Yes excellent point.Its always best to be honest because it can definitely make a big difference in diagnosis and treatment when drugs are involved vs other causes.
