They usually seem fine for a couple of days regardless if it took or not. I've never been able to find any to try it out. Good luck and take care of it. Do you know how?

Dude dont use an air brush on an open wound..
I guess you may of been talking about simple body art but dont put any compressed air on your skin or anywhere that has a chance of having air put in your veins.

hey digital, as far as india ink goes, as long as you use proper equipment, it should turn out fine. By this I mean good hi quality, hopefully sterile, needles and a proper tattoo machine.
As far as the airbrush thingie is concerned, I would avoid that like the plague. I don't think that would work at all and could be harmful as well. I suggest getting two good machines if your serious about starting to tattoo. A seperate machine for lining and shading is essential. Both activities require differnt needles and techniques. The shader has much more force to drive larger groups of needles in to skin cleanly, while a liner operates much more quickly to insure the most points of contact along a line. I'll stick to my Micky Sharpz anyday.
Im not sure how much detail you need as far as tattooing goes, but it sounds like you may need some help. If you have any other questions just ask.

I had a jailhouse tattoo gun made with a cassette motor,a Bic pen{with the ball removed} and a sharpened guitar string approx 6 inches long running down the center of the ink tube inside the pen.Remove the bic ink, and add your own ink{we used burnt carbon paper mixed with water in the joint }You need to build a cam on the motor shaft to get the up/down motion...a piece of paperclip approx.1/16 inch off center of the shaft, glued or use melted plastic at this connection to make it strong.Add a simple switch on the pen shaft..there you go.Funny thing, I got caught with mine and received additional charge of "defacing state property"{fellow inmates} and got 30 days in the hole.

You need understand the concept of how a tattoo machine works before you attempt to make one.

You have to get a small round piece of plastic just big enough to go on the cog that turns. You will probably have to cut a piece small enough for your needs. Get a paper clip or something like that and heat it up enough to burn a hole in the middle of the piece of plastic(plexiglass works, too) and burn a hole towards one edge for your needle to go into. Don't make the center hole bigger than the cog or it will be useless. Put your piece of plastic(the spinner) on the cog. Get your needle(I always used a guitar string), bend one end of the needle to fit into the other hole in your spinner. This is how the needle goes up and down, you see? You will need to make adjustments to the angle of your needle to reduce friction on the needle, but this comes with experience. My description sucks, a little, but I can only do so much in words. I can show you better than I can tell you, but.....
Anyway, I hope this helps. peace
