Grow mediums (New grower)

What's up everyone, I was an avid pot grower..and now it's time to try something new, so I'm gonna try shrooms, I've never eaten any or grown any, but I'm gonna start by growing some. I heard from a friend of mine, there's some kind of pad (the only way he described it), that can be used as a growing medium, as opposed to other mediums such as rice flour/vermiculite. Does anyone have any information on this. I plan on using the technique used in "The Magic Mushrooms Growing Guide 3.2". Any help is appreciated.

Some kind of pad? Nope, never heard of anything like that... The only "pad' that I know of that can be used when growing mushrooms is a HEATING pad, like ones you use when germinating weed seeds... You use this pad to keep the jars warm, but you don't really need to... Just follow the MMGG tek.

I'm doing the same thing that you are. I agree with Shiznitz, I never heard of a pad.
