first, are you sure that they are the right species? there are thousands of tree leguminosae (locust trees, carob, mimosas, acacias, etc...) and only a few dozen have "intersting" alkaloids... there has been some discussion of yopo snuffs at www.ayahuasca.com & at www.spiritplants.com 5meodmt & bufotenine are the likeliest suspects contributing to the psychoactivity of the snuffs...

of course im sure these are the right ones... and you're right, ive seen, when looking for these trees, another mimosaceae plants with lots of resamblance among each other. there are some shrubs with mimosaceous leaves that have exactly the same seeds/pods that of anadenanthera, but in smaller scale. about 10 times smaller. that made me wonder how much dmt have already crossed my way... and there's a lot of deals with their popular names, mimosa hostilis is known as acacia and acacia is known as acacia. it can be pretty confusing at first. sounds like that chewbacca defense at that south park episode of chef being sued and stuff... would u believe they cultivate these entheogens for tanino or charcoal? ignorance is bliss.

I believe that yopo is traditionally prepared by lightly toasting the seeds and crushing them. Lime juice is sometimes used for making snuffs from virola bark, so it may be worth looking into this, however I've never heard of this being used for yopo preparation. Take care Phil

Roast the seeds, crush them into a powder, mix with some ashes from a fire (lime) stick in a tube, stick tube in your nose, breathe.

A. colubrina or peregrina seeds are crushed and traditionally mixed with snail shells to make Yopo/Cohoba. This can bee done, but IMO it would be better to extract the DMT/5-MeO-DMT/bufotenine(!) and smoke it. Simple methanol extract should give crude product, A/B extraction will give reasonably pure DMT.
