drying & potency question

Well you see.. these mushrooms someone gave me were not completley dry when given to me.. probably fan dried 18-36 hours.. anyway, put it this way: they definatley do not crack when bent.
They've been bagged up for about 1.5 weeks, and smell pretty strong..
has this effected their potency in any way.. or just their taste?
I think this is gunna be a boil.

if you dont have a good desicant, chuck them in rice quick smart, as once they go black, there's no going back...:-) Rice is quite good for drying rapidly

no it should effect the potency at all, when i first started drying them, i stopped when they were like that and they were fine, my friend tripped really hard off 2 EQ's that were dried like that. They were shriveled up and close to sry but the bent and didnt snap.

Well, not completly drying the shrooms could lead to rotting on the inside, since that's where the remaining moisture is. Just check the mushrooms by splitting them open. If you see any grayish or dark areas (other than blueing) then rotting has started. Otherwise, you should be good to go. Potency shouldn't be effected too much.
