I have read that dry shrooms are way less potent than fresh ones. I have also read that fresh ones are way less potent than dry ones. Which is correct??? Doesn't make sense!

If dried without heat, there is little difference.

With P. Cubensis, potency isn't lost when dried. There are some species that lose potency, but P. Cubensis is not one of them. -j

Fresh mushrooms take longer to come on as it is harder for the body to digest than dried shrooms, hence the seeming disparity in potency.

Seems to be a lot of personal opinion on this subject.... But if your asking for MY opinion, here it is: I haven't found any difference worth nothing between dry or fresh shrooms. Your best bet? Grow some shrooms, make 2 piles each 2-3 grams (Make sure they are equal). Eat the fresh shrooms, then in a few days eat the dry ones. Then see for yourself. I have found that they are both pretty much the same. And usually any difference you find will be in your mind. The mental state you are in when you trip really affects what the trip is like. Don't lose any sleep over this issue... Fresh.... Dry... They're still Shrooms, and you'll still have a really good trip either way! Eat em' up!

Since Ps.Cubensis has a higher Psilocin content than many other psilocybes, its potency is often decreasing from the moment it is bruised. But ive found that they tend to keep a good amount of potency when dried effectively. Other psilocybes - especially Liberty Caps keep most of their potency when dried simply because they have very high levels of psilocybin but no psilocin therefore none of the potency gets oxidized.
