rhode island state police got him with pounds on tuesday....didnt say how much, but if its what he usually does, its alot. i ask for everyone to put him in your prayers....rhode island marijuana laws are riduclus, he might be looking at a 10 year minimum mandatory sentence.

he got denied bail....its serious. he was set-up somehow, cause they pulled him over and they had a road block and shit.
he did nothing to hurt anyone and now hes rotting in jail with murderers and rapists.

That sucks! I knew someone that was my age that was getting pounds of bud at a time, his girlfriend conviced him to stop dealing...which is good, I don't know what the laws are here, but I am sure it is bad in a lot of states...and I thought I was hating life...I hope the best for him...I just clicked on that link...those laws are f'in messed up! I thought Utah was bad, those are about the worst I have seen...

Mandatory minimum sentence: When someone is convicted of an offense punishable by a mandatory minimum sentence, the judge must sentence the defendant to the mandatory minimum sentence or to a higher sentence. The judge has no power to sentence the defendant to less time than the mandatory minimum. A prisoner serving an MMS for a federal offense and for most state offenses will not be eligible for parole. Even peaceful marijuana smokers sentenced to "life MMS" must serve a life sentence with no chance of parole.
That's absurd!!!!

The only thing about fleeing is that he would be condemning someone else. The person who bails him out will have to put up their property or a large sum of money to the bondsman and this would be forfeit if he runs. The cops might not find him, but karma would.

Yeah, but if his bail is high, which it will be, they will require that the person also put up their land or a certain amount of money to cover the cost of his bail to cover their ass in case he skips. You understand what I'm saying?

Actually, usually you go through a bail bondsman. He makes you pay him 10% of the bail up front and then he gaurantees the whole amount to the court if you jump bail.
If you jump bail on a bondsman you can gaurantee you will have bounty hunters looking for you. Its just the nature of the bussiness.
