how do you pronounce the "p" words. i cna't even find them in a dictionary. also, all of the picutres that i see of mushrooms growing are of fully matured ones. i thought the idea was to pick them early because they are more potent then? if i m growing shrooms in bulk to sell, when should i pick them w/out losing weight? thnx fred

Obviously a picture of a fully opened cap is much prettier than a pic of a closed one.
The mushrooms are not going to lose any weight until you dry them.

Proper pronunciation has psilocybe rhyming with philosify. Thats the proper latin pronunciation. But if you speak english then you would likely say sill-oh-sib.

Around here, we just call it.....magic!

If you're selling your shrooms, it's really up to you when to pick them. On the one hand, you could wait until their caps open and they reach maximun size. This will give you bigger mushrooms. On the other hand, you could pcik them right when the veils open, and get smaller, but more potent shrooms. If I were you, I'd pick them when the veil opens, because a) customers will be more satisfied, and b) you will be producing smaller, yet more, potent shrooms.
