Ps. weilii and possibly Ps. atlantis(PICS)

Found a few weilii today and what I think could be the new Ps. atlantis or possibly another new specie that was also disovered in GA last year. It might just be a variation of weilii, because likes its cousin caerulescens it has many shapes and variations. The long skinny stem and cottony fibrillose is what makes me think it may be atlantis. Weilii usually has layered fibrillose on the base of the stem, kinda like squigly lines of fibrillose.this mushroom had cottony fibrillose more than half way up the stem when it was found. Either way it was a cool looking mushroom. I also found a few weilii and a ton of pins, and it rained today so I'm sure I'll be posting more pics tommarow :)

HI LK, I can assure you those too are P. weilii. I have several images of the new species P. atlantis but I have promised not to display themn until the taxonomy is published by Guzm?n.

Anyway, a good score for you there LK. Keep picking.

I agree with your ID on the atlantis, it had the smell of a weilii, and so far nothing has come close to smelling like weilii, I can ID the from smell alone :) Plus they don;t look much like the pics of atlantis I've seen either.


I wish you the best of luck finding samuiensis!! I have a feeling your going to find a shitload of them, I'll be thinking bout ya over there :) Takes lots of pictures as usual.
