1000 weilii in one day(PICS!)

Well, 990 to be approx(give or take a few) but I had atleast 10 dried weilii in the house and a post with the # 1000 looks much cooler than 990, so we'll call it 1000 :smile: Man, it was one hell of a day, what can I say, it was abesolutly amazing, unbelievable, rediculous, astonishing, out of this world, you catch my drift :smile: I have never found so many weilii in my life in one day! And it all came from a one block radius, and there were more but I was tired of picking and didn't want to out stay my welcome and get the cops called so I called it a day after 3 hours of picking. I actually got permission from two home owners that had rediculous amounts of weilii in their front yard, both said go ahead and pick them with no questions asked :smile: I really wish I had my camera, oh how I wish I had my camera, the clusters I was finding were unreal, stuntzii like clusters of 60-70 mushrooms cap to cap standing tall and proud. They were so tightly clustered you couldn't fit a hair off your head between one cap to the next, it was awesome.

This season has been more than rewarding, words can't describe it! I also found about 2000 of my new species in the past few weeks, but thats another story and another post. More finds from the Lizard to come.

Prints, yeah I have a bunch, but not a 1000, it would be hours apoun hours of work and would take up so much space to print all of these, I just can't. But sure, whoever wants one can have one. Maybe I'll send out 50 or so prints to one trustworthy person here that can then distribute them accordingly. I'm so damn busy right now I couldn't get all the prints out on time. Maybe a donation to the free spore thingy, whoever the hell is running it now, would be in order?

I have a great pic of hiding weilii I could use in a contest. One of those "See if you can spot all the weilii" type thingys? Think that would be cool?

Im heading out to my patches tomorrow, setting my goal at 1000. These things really do produce like mad. I bet Georgia is going to become a new haven for mushroom hunters, especially with all these new pslocybes popping up.

All I can say Lizard is STUNNING!  That has to be the greatest find I've ever seen.  I like the way you carefully lined them up on the tables too.

all those pics really do make my 120 liberty caps look like a pittle. I mean im gonna eat about 80 for a trip. So thats nothing. AND they took over 7 hours to find! Sigh I gotta find some potent species!

Naw man, not tripping, just busy as hell :smile: I appreciate all the compliments. I picked about 200-300 more today with Ladle, and a few new species. I have about 30-40 patches of all sizes now, compared to my 4 patches last year :smile: Just think next year instead of searching for new patches can just hit all of my new patches up at once for one hell of a harvest :smile: I've picked so damn many ths year I dream about weilii, when I close my eyes I see them everywhere!

The same thing has been happening to me and my friends that I go picking with. Ive had dreams of literally fields of giant weilii, where you cant even see the grass. I was telling my friend about it today, and he told me about a dream where he was in a forest of giant weilii  :wink:

I may be a far cry from 1000, but I picked about 60 today in about 30 minutes... all beautiful specimens... and left behind a few patches to allow maturation time.

I agree about the dreams.. i had one this morning where i passed by a weilii, went about 20 yards... stopped and ran back.......my alarm when off when i bent down to pick it... i got up, turned the alarm off and said "now i gotta go back and pick that damned thing" heehee.

they are gorgeous mushrooms
