A few weeks ago I innoculated a couple jars most of which are completely white now. But two of my jars that seemed to have to much water in them now have small little worm looking things in them. There about the size of --. nasty lookin things if you ask me. Has anyone seen this before.

it might help if you tell us what kind of substrate you are using because over-wet rice can look suprisingly like worms....

The worms come from tiny little flies, maybe fruit flies or white flies, I don't know for sure. They crawl into the jar through the holes in the jar lid and lay their eggs, alot of times the flies die in the jar from the moisture. They look damn nasty.

Yeah it seems to be this nasty small flies. These little monsters really love mycelium. Better be sure to get rid of all these flies cause they will propably contaminate more of your stuff. They eat your mycelium (while they are larves), become flies, lay eggs and die. This goes on quite fast so you can produce very much of this small larves in short time. Just be sure that there are no holes in your other jars where these flies can get in.
