Raise temp during fruiting?
    #367410 - 08/05/01 09:42 PM (23 years, 1 month ago)

I know the temp should be low (70-75 degrees) for pinning, but after the casings have pinned, would it be wise to raise the temp to upper 70s low 80s for faster mushroom growth?

Also while i'm posting, are there any negative effects from putting different strains in the same terrarium? I wouldn't think there would be but i wanted to be 100% sure before i do.

..and yes, you can have different strains in the same terrarium. It's fun watching them grow head-to-head!

I live in florida and I keep everything under my bed in the air conditioning. The thermestat in my apartment however is set to 70 degrees so everything stays chill. Makes incubating a pain.

McMan:
my shrooms seem to do well when they're outside in the perm. shade.
As for the "cropping surface" being distrurbed by what is known as a vegetative growth state.. that I am interested in.
can you explain what you mean?

I am just about to get a flush on some Eq's and camby cakes. (73 degrees presently)
After this flush I was considering raising the temps on the cakes to 84degrees
initiate mycelial growth for a few days before casing them. Is that a good idea?
With the weather this past week.. I was growing mycelium out the wazoo, couldn't keep
down humidity and temp was nearing 90 in the growing closet, fans going. finally
had to move to bathroom where ac temp was 66, then I had to turn on a heater in there to
get to a perfect 74degrees.. man what we go through for the precious shrooms.
thanks..
