is it ok to dry with a dehydrator

will it effect the potency to dry mushrooms with a dehydrator and how long does it take to dry them that way thanks for any info .....................peace out

its safe, won't hurt potency at all. In fact, I think most people would preffer using a dehydrator for drying out the fun guys. I'm not sure about time, but when they're cracker dry, they're done.

Works OK--potency loss w/ any method except freeze-drying is about 50%, but after that if you seal 'em up in airtight plastic & store in a cool dark place they'll keep a good long time.

Small thin-fleshed mushrooms like semilanceata, baeocystis, etc. should get completely dry within a couple of hours. Large meaty ones like cubensis should probably be left in overnight. When they break with a crispy snap they're done; if they're still kinda leathery, they need to dry longer.
