Which vendor to choose

Hello all, I am a long time reader of the shroomery site but just recently registered to post my own messages. Anyways I am about to try growing for the third time. Every time I have followed the MMGG every step of the way (except I used perlite) My first time was with small sucess. I grew some mushrooms, but only had one trip (about a level 2) and the rest weren't potent in the least bit. Second time I was able to grow about 5 times more than before, but still, just the first few were potent, I had a level 3 trip and a few level one trips but after that nothing. I had used just the $10 spore syringes from Psylocybe Fanaticus both times, and grew in a styrofoam container with perlite in it. My question to you guys is: Which of the many spore suppliers should I choose from, for mushrooms that are still good and potent, but not to hard to grow. Which strain should I choose, who to get it from, also any other tips you could give would be great. Right now I am looking especially at either HawksEye or Lil shop of spores. Ecuador strain. Thanks

Try the B+ strain, it is very popular and easy to cultivate. Most vendors carry it including of course...the SporeLab!
Take a trip to the Spore Lab @: http://www.SporeLab.com email: getspores@sporelab.com

Whatever you decide, it'd be a good idea to read up on making spore prints. You'll have your own supply and/or be able to trade w/ others to get new strains.

Yeah, I was going to make spore prints, and there were a lot of the little guys growing, so I took some and decided to save one of the latter ones for making a print of, but then when those ones weren't giving me any kind of trip at all, I figured why make a print of some bunk shit anyways. The only times I tripped really good was off fresh ones, so it might have something to do with my drying method (straight from MMGG with DampRid in tupperware) but only the first batches off the cakes were the good ones, is there a good way to sort of refresh the cakes to get them like new again? Thanks for the replies all

In reply to:

It's more likely that A) you didn't eat enough dry ones to trip. or B) you didn't wait long enough after eating the freshies to trip off the dry ones

I agree with auto, Ralphster is a good place to order from. However, I also hear that sporeworks is really good too.
