Ive got a 750ml bottle of everclear and I want to know the best way to make absinthe with it. I dont want to distill or anything. I can choke down almost anything. So taste isnt a huge concern. I dont really wanna wait for the herbs to extract into the alk. Im looking at this product Any experience with the Absinthe essence? Is it just as good as getting the wormwood and other herbs?

I have heard that wine spirts make a better product, also you rprobably going to want to use herbs, look on erowid for teks.

it is easy to make absinthe. get a bottle of Pernod. Get an ounce of wormwood. I read the root is better then the leaf. shred and put into the Pernod. Pernod is absinthe minus the wormwood. it was one of the first and most famous ones of its time. i like to put the bottle into a Rubbermaid, fill almost to the top of the bottles with water, and place an aquarium heater inside. this helps maintain a constant 85-90 temp. let it set in a dark place for about a week. i go for a week and a half or 2 for more potency. come back every day or so and shake the bottle well. then place back in the dark. after you separate all the leaf or root, let it set for a week or 2. it helps take away some of the bite, and lets the flavors balance themselves out. it takes a year of setting before it becomes what i would consider "smooth" again. it will have a bite to it, and you will notice the difference. it wont be nearly as god awful as an ever-clear extract... ICHK!!!!!! i did that once, and it tasted like burnt wood. the effects were pretty amazing though. you can get a better taste, and same effects with this. all you need to do is add the wormwood. the rest is already there. you can buy Pernod is most u.s. liquor stores.

no prob. i think a bottle of Pernod is the same price as a bottle of ever-clear. also... if 60 bucks isn't too much, they have some real absinthe, with the most legal amount of thujone, you can always add more the same way as Pernod. they shipped from France to my house in Southern Cali in 4 days. People will tell you that you are wasting your money at 60-80 bucks a bottle, but it's bullshit. this stuff can get me drunk off 2 oz. just 2 shots is all it usually takes. and considering this item is made and shipped from France in 4 days, is amazing.

true.. but worth it. 90 bucks for 20 bottle is what i paid, when the exchange rate was good. i think absinthe is legal to own in the u.s. just not legal to buy or sell. ..... i think

yeah i used that too. i got another one from another lady in Florida.. don't remember the site. they work. a coffee grinder will help, unless its all already dusted for you. just try to keep the bottle in as warm a place as possible for the week, it helps the thujone extract. 85-90 is great. i never tried above 90-ish, I'm afraid something may explode if i go to 95.
