Be patient and stop looking in on them every 15 min. let your controled mother nature run it's coarse.
Maybe fan more times per day that will help with to much moisture just don't let it go dry.

Just be patient. The directions say that pinning will occur generally within 5-8 days. At six days, you can't begin thinking that something is wrong. All you can do is wait. And whatever you do, DON'T fan the chamber or even open the lid. Ryche has explained in the past that there is a conrolled amount of moisture in the compost and that any fanning at all will cause overdrying. Just be patient and tell us how it goes.

I'm at exactly the same point you are (it can take around 10+ days for pinning to start).
I'm also worried about the water content inside the kit.
I don't see how mushies can form in huge puddles, which is what I have all over the top and sides.
Also some of the puddles are starting to yellow:shocked:!

NO! <<<<<<<<<<
DIRECTIONS from the DB page:
Read this please before you go giving false advice to someone please. This is not intened to start a flame war BUT before you answer a question KNOW that your are providing the correct answer.

Humidity: Humidifiers are not needed if using the DB compost inside the pre-fabricated chamber provided. This compost puts off enough humidity that it creates a mini rain forest inside. Misting will only be needed perhaps after the 1st or 2nd flush, but only if surface looks real dry. >>>>>>>>There is even a drain plug if too much water develops at the bottom of the chamber. If you see this, drain it.<<<<<<<<<<<<<
IF your water will not drain LIKE YOU POSTED FANNING wil help you out.

If there is a lot of water mycelium can DROWN I have had to on more than 1 occasion increase my air exchange to compinsate. WHEN the water was not draining.
Well I originally said I do not give a shit what Ryche has to say"BUT since the quote that was made did NOT come from Ryche. I do care what he has to say.
Depending on where you live and what your weather is like will make a great difference on the moisture content.
Ryche is a very inteligent man and knows what's going on BUT he is not GOD so please take some time to look around and explore before you do anything.
I use the DB often and I have never had pooling water did you guys mist with a spray bottle or add any moisture at all??

Moisture does develop in these kits. All of mine have had pools of moisture. I did not mist or add any extra moisture. Ryche wrote in a post a while back not to worry about the pooling unless it was more than an inch deep.If it's more than an inch deep, then drain it.A number of people that have posted on the kit have stated they have pools of water. It is not uncommon.

Right but he said an inch deep all over the bottom and mycelium will not grow in water.
I am waiting to here from the guy who posted it I had more question I think he may be a bit paranoid being his first time.
And is there holes for air exchange on the tub or bin??

Yes, there are holes on the top. If he is using the IRIS container that the kit comes with, there are small holes spaced out on the lid for air exchange.

I never added moisture at all......it just developed.
There are pre-drilled holes in the lid for air exchange so I think I'll just let it run it's course w/out fanning.
The plug on the bottom doesn't work cuz it's completely plugged by mycellium..........I'll let you know!
