contaminated casing

how easy is it for a casing to become contaminated? i just lost a nice casing to green mold. should i worry about the casing that was in with it? it popped up in the last 4 hrs or so.. i have a vermiculite soil bottom and a soil top layer... its not that bad cause i still have 6 more casing... later.....

nah man, as far as i know as long as the casing hasn't had trich for a long time any recent fruits should be fine... but bin that mutha right after you harvest! don't want it to spread to other casings... i can almost guarantee your problem is with the soil... happened when i tried soil to! firstly did you sterilize/pasteurize it? if not then that is your problem right there! if you did then it is the big fucking chunks of bark and wood that is typical of potting mixes...

most casings will get green mould at some stage... usually fourth - fifth flush is a good guess... it all depends on how clean you work! good luck with those other ones man!

(check out 50/50 plus casing and get rid of that bottom layer in the future...)
