Silica Crystals For Drying

When Drying using silica crystals do you need to crush the crystals up to a finer grind than the cm sized chunks? And if im wrong here correct me: once shrooms are harvested.. fan dry until pretty dry then put into Air Tight? container.. with silica crystals on bottom and shrooms on wire mesh on top?

you mean that little packet that comes in the bottom of a pill bottle that says "warning, do not eat"? i think you can get that stuff at flower shoppes (not that id know)
i guess it could work, just pack it in cheesecloth asd keep it among the shrooms you wish to dry, still i think it would be more pracrical to blow them dry with a fan.

I just stick my fun guys in a paper sack in the silica container. My stuff is pretty fine but it doesn't matter The only sporeprint this summer dropped in there.

No, off course not. They will disintegrate to smaller particles anyway when heated to recharge them.

wow.. took under 24 hours.. the stems I put in with the silica are now cracker dry... this stuff rocks
