Leave em out to dry?

I havent gotten around to buying a fan yet and I cant find calcium chloride anywhere (what the is that shit used for anyway?) So I bought some absorbancy stuff at walmart that said it contained 'silica crystals', and it doesnt do a damn thing. So anyway, for now I am just leaving my crop out on a table to dry for now and i was wondering if this could cause any problems with contam or rot or something of the like. Im gonna get a fan asap but just wanna know if this is cool for now.

two things, 1-'silica crystals' = dessicant. but you have to bake it for an hour first because it has more than likely already absorbed some water from it's packaging. so bake and follow the drying tek that's found on this site.
2- leaving them on the table shouldn't hurt them, but if they're large, you should cut them in half so they don't rot while drying so slowly. perhaps there's a better method to drying without a fan or dessicant, but since you have the dessicant, use it! best of luck...

If you in cold climates set them next to an exterior wall, window, or at the bottom of an exterior door. There should be just enough of a cold draft to dry your shrooms to a crisp in 24 hours.

Good call on that one man...It is currently taken at least two or three days for larger fruits to dry on the table...Probably dont need to even bother buying any drying angent or fan.
