makin growspace questions

ok so i have some pedros and im going to go for a 400 watt mh fixture in about a 2ft by 3 ft area. is that safe. can i also grow sally under this ? thanks for helpin me with my nubieness =)

You could cover 2x that with the 400 if your just keeping the cactus for winter. If you want to grow sally under that you'd either need a lower shelf to the side or some shading material over them.

florecent bulbs.. Or window light.

They realy dont like any HID's..

I was pretty sure that with filtered light, sally is fine with HID lights? You can just put clear glass in front of the plant (wherever the light is hitting it) so the light isn't too intense.

Yes that will work... But you still have heat issues plus they have been known to blow up when water hits the bare bulb so be careful when spraying

Yeah, I am just going to get one of those plastic shield guards that go in front of the light (probably to prevent that). I thought Sally's natural habitat was hot humid climates? I guess it would depend on the wattage when dealing with the heat issues. 2 feet away from a 400w would probably do fine.
