The Story of the Over-Watered Plant/Fungus
    #3558852 - 12/29/04 10:09 PM (12 years, 21 days ago)

Once upon a time, brothers and sisters, there was a youthful plant. The plant was developing and growing just like all the other plants that were like it for awhile. Then the plant stopped growing like the other plants. It's caretaker (the gardener) began to love the plant too much and as a result, the gardener over watered the plant. The plant, just like mushrooms, had growth paramaters. . But the gardener wanted to give the plant more than what it needed - it wanted the plant to be loved so much that it would give extra love back to the gardener somehow.
It didn't turn out the way the gardener had hoped.
The plant began to wilt and look more down and out compared to the other plants. It didn't have the vitality and sense of well-being that the other plants had.

as a child if you are sheltered from all the harsh elements, then when you grow up it will be 10x harder to cope with them, because all species grow and change the most at a very young age.
