Rye and filter discs

It necessary to use filter discs for Rye berries. Is there another way to do this without filter discs.?

hey, grimace
all my gorilla does when he uses rye, is drill a hole in center of lid about 3/8 " in diameter, them he stuffs it as tightly as possible with polyfill, cover with foil and pressure cook.(you can innoculate through the polyfill with a syringe)
And to however thought up the idea of polyfill,( well the big hairy fellow is very pleased with the results) hats off to the guy who dreamed up using polyfill !!
