Patch or Fruit?! Pics

I have already patched. I had to leave town for a day and the myc. kinda overan the jiffymix. Should I repatch, scratch or just fruit?






Have some casing material pasteurizing as we speak in case I need to use it.

What should I do?

I assume these casings are sitting in your incubator?  Why did you let it incubate again after patching the first time?  Next time patch and put  in terrarium just after.

Wouldn't hurt to patch again.  But you should fruit as soon as possible.

I personnaly never scratched a casing.  I sure have once in a while some overlay that could be scratched but I don't bother.  I see it that way : overlay sure reduces the pinset but on the other hand, less pins with the same amount of substrate and water will make bigger mushrooms so i don't care about the reduced cropping area.

That doesn't mean I don't pay attention to overlay nor that the above assumption was scientifically proven :wink:  It's just me.

So in brief, patch again and fruit.  You shouldn't have much overlay at this stage.

I would just let her go man it looks like myc is coming up nicely, little too much to be patchin.

It's never too late for patching, unless you have pins or hyphal knots and even then... just be light on the patching, at this point, you don't need to completely cover every spot of white.

Those heavy colonization spots look very thick and appear as if they will most likely overlay if you don't patch again. Do like FishInMyHead and patch again. Put a light dressing over the most colonized areas and put it straight into the fruiting chamber afterwards. Overlay is not fun and can greatly diminish final harvest weight if allowed to get serious.
