i dont even bother dividing the album into songs; its all one experience that makes me trip out, if im relaxed. i actually prefer listening to amnesiac better cuz its not as dark

i just got this album and i think that it is great though i could never listen to it trippin because i think it would make me cry..i think it would be a great album for coming down off of a trip because there are a lot of real relaxing sounds..the ambient sounds kind of remind me of aphex twin..i think my favorite track on it so far is "idioteque" although "how to dissapear completely" caught my attention at first..

Dude! I guess you need to listen to it more than 8 times. You are missing out on one of their best cds. I think that OK Computer is their best album overall because of the completeness and fluid sound, but it pales compared to the short bursts of emotion portrayed in more talented artistic ways of Kid A. It is like "OK" is the best Pop album they could ever make, practiced for in the first two albums, so they've decided to go in a new direction and try to perfect it also.

Ok. I have two things to say here: 1) In response to the original post, I think that how to disappear completely is not only RH's most beautiful song, but that the song itself is kind of like a really intense mind-opening trip. You know the part, towards the end, when Thom starts wailing along with the guitar part, not actually saying any words. Then the strings start playing notes that are dissonant(don't sound like they fit correctly). These notes become louder and louder, the way bad vibes take over and get more powerful on a bad trip, and eventually they cover the rest of the music. BUT, and this is the key, right afterwards the strings dissapear (completely) and everything is consonant again and I swear that it makes the song AT LEAST ten times more beautiful. This reminds me of all of my really intense trips because they start out scary, the first wave is usually really bad and intense, but once I conquer that wave the rest of the trip is made even more beautiful by the fact that I have conquered that initial fear. 2) In response to Bigidiot There are a lot of schmucks who like radiohead just because they have a certain image and seem real serious and arty. I think the band itself is actually to blame for this, they definetely project that image. But there is no way that I can listen to any of their albums, particularly the new ones, and not believe that they are ultimately dedicated to making good music. I don't have Thom Yorke as my icon because I think he looks cool or his image will gain me some sort of respect, but because I want to music as good as his someday. Don't get too caught up in image when it comes to music.

Last week I listened to Kid A while tripping pretty hard on DXM (upper 2nd plateau, possibly lower 3rd). It was amazing. I put on Geiss visualization on winamp, turned on the cd, and lay on my bed watching the screen. Incredible visuals (the visualization kept flowing off of the screen and into the rest of my room). Amazing.

I enjoyed radiohead but it took a shroom high with my friends to enjoy it. The key things that haunts me was turning to my friend and saying "is that the music or my mind" when the music turned off i felt like a lost a part of myself Radiohead has new meaning on shrooms IT teleports me to this insane mindset i can explain. When i listen to radiohead sober i get unexpected bursts of moments i had forgotten from childhood or previous highs.
