adding dextrose to whole grain substrate

I picked up some dextrose at a brew store and I am planning to add some of it to the water that I am cooking the grain in. But I am not sure how much to add. I probably dont want to make it too sugary, but just enough to help make the substrate more nutritious. Has anybody experimented with this, or does anybody have any knowledge about it? Please share your wisdom. Thanks

This will only invite contaminats. Don?t add it. It?s not necessary.

yeah ok, but even if I pressure cooked it real well?

OK. let?s asume it is pressure cooked real well, everything is dead.
Do you have the means to assure nothing, really nothing comes in to the jar during inoculation except mycelium?
Think about it.
What the hell, try it and you will see. Report the results.
The standard sugar concentation for malt based agar is app. 20 g/liter.

OK just to be safe I'll only try it in half of my jars,, five with dextrose and five without. Plus that way I will be able to see if there is any difference or added benefit.
Thanks for your advice, I'll let you know the results.
