Can't get cakes to fruit. What am I doing wrong?
    #341458 -

I made 24 rice cakes with the PF tek, and did not lose a single one to contamination. But, I've got them set up in the PF style cooler terrerium, and I can't get them to fruit. I tried outdoor terrium, pop bottle terrerium, and now cooler w/ spray bottle for humidity. I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but fluffy white mycelium is growing but no fruits. Mycelium is even growing onto the wet paper towel in the pop bottle terrerium, but will not fruit. Does anyone have any idea what I should do?Thanks

how are you keeping the humidity up. Using perlite?
I put a 1/2pint pf cake w/ pf strain in a tupperware box w/ perlite and it started to pin in about a week and a half. How long has it been since you birthed the cakes?

I inject humidity via spray bottle 3-4 times a day, and I fan the cakes twice a day. the cakes sit on a wire mesh frame and i mist a drip shield above them. i just dont get why the mycelium is growing upon itself but not initiating fruiting. i have some mexicana cakes and some cubensis, and cant get either to fruit.

I would recommend more air, less water. Can you measure the RH in your chamber? Sounds like you may be overdoing it w/ the moisture.
