I used these pictures in the contam forum to help someone else out..but now my friend is starting to worry. Does this cake look ok? All of the cakes in the pmp look like this:

it looks fine to me except the whole fact of it being handled by a bare hand. it looks like prepin.

Bare hands are fine dude.

Once a cake is fully colinized it is very hard to get it Contaimed. Fresh MYC is very healthy.

I can tell you that once a cake is fully Colinized. You could put it into a chamber with thick globs of green mold growing on the sides of the chamber and until the MYC fruits it will not contaim.

You are correct that sterile habits are best. But Fully grown MYC is very defensive. :grin:

Sure you can handle it with bare hands, but still try and take precautions. Wash your hands with anti-bacterial soap before, and if possible wear gloves, there cheap and just and added layer of protection for you and your babies. Im not saying you have to but it is a good idea.

Yup, my friend washed his hands and wipe them with alcohol wipes before handling. Thanks for the advice guys. He was getting a little worried, this being a first time grow and all.
