A nice haul of Boletes
    #3375335 -

This is about half of what I've found this year.
But I was only out 3 or 4 times
That's a whole stove top covered there!

Those are Leccinums. They are generally pretty good to eat, although several kinds turn black when cooked.

If you haven't eaten them before, be sure you eat only a small amount the first time. Also, be sure you cook them thoroughly - I know people who became sick when they didn't cook them enough.

What kinds of trees were they growing under? When you bruise them, what colors do they turn?

Happy mushrooming!

You may have seen me at Fungus Fun...same nick
They are bay and/or birch boletes.
I have had them before they are pretty mild in taste but a big heavy mushroom. They do turn color (black) when you cook them and when bruised I think some of them bruised a little blue...or was that a different mushroom....I have another pic somewhere.
I've had them a few times anyway, good mushrooms I'm going to make a stew with these in the pic.
I have another pic of the underside of the caps...I'll look around.

Thanks!
I have Three A1+++ picking spots for these things.
When they're out I can fill a shopping cart with them!
Two carts if I'm not picky.
