Contaminated??

A couple days ago I cut my mushrooms from their cakes. While cutting I noticed two things; first a small green spot on the cake, well away from the mushroom that was cut and second, at the base of a few mushrooms there was a fuzzy, white growth. I cut the mushrooms above this growth. Could any of my mushrooms be contaminated?

The spot on the cake was green, but it was on the other side from where the mushroom was growing. I also had another mushroom that was purple on the stem and on the cake beneath the mushroom was a large purple spot. I assumed that this was the result of dropped spores. Any ideas if both situations are okay?

This all seems fine. Contams on fully colonised cakes are not as common as you might think. The mycelium is usally very vigorous and can fight off most bacteria. You say there is green on the cake. I am suspecting this is just blue/green bruisng. Look at it again, is it the mycelium which is this colour, or does it look like something is ontop of the myceluim and that is green? The white fuzz at the bottom of the shroom is normal, its just mycelium again, and the purpling on the stem is either spores or bruising most likely. Peace

I've also noticed a metallic green contam that seems to affect vermiculite. Your shrooms should be fine, take two and call me in the morning.
