Pest control....or trouble with the cops?

Lately we have started to have a real serious problem in my neighborhood with pigeons. I think someone around here has been feeding them or something because their population numbers have exploded. I have spent the last few months trying to find ways to keep them off my property. Everything is getting covered in birdshit and I've had it.
So this weekend I decided it was time to take matters into my own hands and I went out and bought a pellet gun. Thats right....pigeon season is open!!
But once I got home I started to have second thoughts. I think I may have bought a little too much gun for this endeavor. I bought a Winchester 1000X break-barrel .177 air rifle with a 1000fps muzzle velocity. Picked it up for $99. Stats here.
When I got the gun home (and really stopped to think about it) I began to worry about how this might look to my neighbors. This is the suburbs, after all! And this is not your run-of-the-mill bb gun here! This thing is a lot bigger and heavier than my 22 rifle! It looks quite intimidating to see some guy carrying this thing around the suburbs! So now I'm afraid I will have to be quite stealthy or I just may get a visit from the police!
Heres a picture of the new pellet gun next to my 22 rifle for comparison.
And what would you think if you saw this guy in your neighborhood?
If I really wanted to complete the package I could take that scope off the 22 and mount it on the pellet gun. That'd get the neighbors attention even more!

Oh, and I don't want to hear any bitching about "humane treatment" of these birds. Many of the neighbors have complained and I'm sure some of them have already or will soon call a pest control company. The pest control company uses poisons to kill the birds. And that is an awful way for them to die. If you've ever seen a bird flopping around in the final stages of poisoning you'd understand how much more humane it is to kill them quickly with a gun.
And ignoring them is not optional anymore. I've tried the live-and-let-live strategy and its not working with these damn things!

lmao...thats awsome...that pellet gun looks exactly like the one the cops took from me....i used to shoot birds with my pellet gun but then began to feel bad for them....haha, it usually takes a couple shots until they cant fly...then you walk up to it and shoot it in the head close range and the pellet will take half of its head off

Shoot those birds good! I think you may scare some neighbors. Might wanna tell them what your gonna do, because some might be concerned to see you walking around with a gun and call the cops. The last thing we want are little piggies running around our houses.

Laugh at him because there are much better ways to repel pigeons. And then call the police because its illegal. =]
But he's not in my hood - so prolly pass him the bong.

It's a good thing the pigeons aren't toting guns around to get rid of the pesky humans in the neighborhood.
