I've never had a problem eating mushrooms, love em in fact.
I tripped my first time about a month ago. Didn't get much from it, so decided to take twice as many a few days later. Started tripping HARDCORE! Was doing alright till I started to feel bad. Looked down at my hands and they were horribly swollen! My wedding ring was almost covered over from the swelling! Started having trouble breathing and swallowing. Then the muscles in my lower back started having spasms and I couldn't move. Should have went to hospital, but what was I going to tell them? Took some Benedril and water pills instead. Swelling went down after a while and I started feeling better.

I've heard that you can't OD on shrooms, but can you have an allergic reaction when you've never had a problem before? :confused:

Has anyone had this problem before?
Did you ever trip again?

Freaking out does not include visible swelling that others can see.

Seriously, I was really swollen. I was wondering if it could have been the dust in the bottom of the bag that could have done it? Like I said, I've never had a problem with mushrooms and I didn't have a problem with the first batch we had. I'm wondering if there could have been some of the growing medium in there and I had a reaction to that?

It's possible. Could it have been something in the envirnment itself which you might have been allergic too?

the first time you are exposed to an allergen you can have no allergic reaction at all. this is when the histimines develope and the next time you get exposed they take off freaking out and swell your shit up, damn them damn them to hell.

If I were to take Benedryl before hand, would it prevent the reaction?

yeah it should, recognize the name is ANTIhistamine. it should keep the effects away. if you are really worried about it go to the doctor and tell them you got all swollen with shortness of breath from a bee sting and you want an epipen in case it happens again.
