You could download all shroomery content including BB on CD, and sell it for about 10$.
I can bet that many people would buy it. Me included.
Considering the fact that I am spending about 30% of internet time on the shroomery, it would reduce these costs, because in these several years there is almost no question that was not been replied.
So, what do you think?

That is a good idea. So what all do you want on the cd? I could eventually make them all html files that you could browse offline. You want the bb software, database data?

yeah...it's an excellent idea....i asked aphex once about this....
i think there's a really big knowledge here at the shroomery, and everything will be lost if the shroomery closes one day (a day faaaar away from now)

Or compile all important files for the site (Graphics, HTML, Content) into an archive. Compress it using .Zip or something.

Then, post it somewhere on the site, or off-site.
The crazy people like me can then download it, no matter how long it takes. (I've done it lots of times befores, sometimes 14 hours straight downloading). If one day, say, the server blows up, killing 13 people, and all data is lost - a bunch of people will have the back up.

This sounds like a cool idea. Wonder how hard it would be to convert the db info to HTML files.

They could be packaged w/ a random spore print. Might increase the number sold.
