Why would you feel depressed in the end? Because of the polar extremities of feeling sooo good, then losing them? Well, you can think that way. Or you can just embrace the fact that the time you did have at the gathering really KICKED ass. It's all about your perspective. Don't be dishonourable and think about how it's something you don't have anymore, that's insane. Think about the good time you had!
I can't imagine you being older than 30, but do correct me if I'm wrong, so just remember that there's many more to come. It's not something you should dwell over. :sun:

But god dammit, those gatherings do sound like fun!

The thing is, at a gathering I meet all these like-minded people who I can relate to and get along with great, but then I have to say goodbye to them and go back home to the real world, where I then feel even further alienated from everyone.

i know how you feel man. i haven't been to a gathering yet, planning on making the spring 2005 midwest one. i always get that feeling after leaving a good music festival or camping trip. it sucks!

I have yet to make it to a gathering. I was out of work for like 5-6 months now and am just now getting a new job at Office Max in the electronics department. So hopefully I'll be saving my money for a trip to the next gathering. I'll have some distance to travel seeing how I live down south in Florida.

But I do plan on travelling to meet up with all of you when I have the funds.

Yeah I havent been to a gathering yet, but I will. Im gonna try to have a midwest gathering in the spring, maybe at warren dunes or something. I know how you feel though, I get the same way when I travel. Travelling makes me so free and happy, but when its over it sometimes sucks a little extra outta you. It helps to keep in touch with the peeps meet, which shouldnt be hard round these parts.
