Opiate related GI problems
    #3338826 - 11/09/04 07:38 PM (19 years, 4 months ago)

Yeah, anyone have any advice about how to deal with this problem, for some reason it hits me pretty badly, especilly after using for a couple days in a row.

eat some prunes, or drink some salty water, Phosphosoda always does the trick before a colonoscopy.

well, it's not like I have been using for a long time, but I have used everyday for like a week and a half or so and have ate alot of shitty food. I dunno, I'll be alright. Just notcing how much it sucks because I didn't take anything today.

Short term solution: Buy some epsom salts and mix with water as per box instructions.
Long term solution: Don't do opiates more than a day or two in a row. You know why.

i second jellric, from experience of your symptoms, and more dreadful symptoms of withdrawl.

If I'm really, REALLY high off opiates, yes, I've experienced problems pissing. When I got surgery and was on oxy's for a long time, even if I wasn't high I'd still have problems... this was after weeks. Asked my doc and he said it was normal.

GD - Equate Fiber Laxative. <$5 at your local pharmacy. Should clear things right up. Benzos gave me the same symptoms, and this worked fine.

Yep, I completely agree with the Oxy statement. One of the hardest thing to do is empty a blader on oxy.

I don't know why you guys do it. I was fed some opiates after surgery and it was terrible. Not being able to shit for 3 days and trying to piss was so frustrating.

ive been on percocet, oxycontin, fentanyl, all forms of vicodin and dilaudid since being diagnosed with Crohn's Disease, the pain disease that is the bane of my existance

being a disease of the GI tract, it's an irony that the pills that help the pain worsen an already horribly suffering GI tract, blocking it up and, the irony, causing more pain

for those of us not using it recreationally, rather because we have no other choice, the only solution is to take it like a man ... every morning of every day ... i can spend up to an hour in the bathroom or more depending on how severe the backup is, and the pain is overwhelming every time ...

i cant use laxatives and cant eat fiber (due to the nature of the disease) so really i just have to mentally deal with it every day, hoping one day for the remission that will rid me of the addiction
