Cool Mist For PmP?

I was wondering if it is even logical to use a cool mist on a PmP?  I just found a cool mist for 20 bucks, and decided to grab it for when I buy a martha.  Should I use it with my PmP:thumbup:, or not bother :thumbdown:?

if your using Geolite in the PMP with the airstone and all that then dont worry about it...

i was going to use perlite, and a small airstone. should i use the coll mist also?

I've messed around with this a bit. This is what you need to do...

You need about 1/2" ro 1" perlite on the bottom. The hose(at least 1") from the coolmist needs to be hooked on the bottom of the pod. I just cut a big hole on the bottom. If you hookup hose anywhere above the perlite, you'll get about 85-90% humidity and that's it.

I did away with this because I needed those pods for my rye casings and I didn't want to deal with daily maintenance with coolmist.

It's upto you, but I suggest you keep your coolmist for your future martha and stick with an air pump driven PMP.

oh yeah.. no water on the bottom if you hook it up to the bottom of the pod. You need good flow from the coolmist through the perlite layer.

Thanks sam, your always helpful with all my questions. If I just stick with perlite and airstone, im assuming ill have to mist the sides and fan everyday, correct?

hell no. You can spray after you peek if you want, but no fanning or misting required.

With a pmp I'd ditch the perlite for lava rock if geolite costs to much. Geolite is very cheap if you get it a morter supply or some place that sells the shit in cement I forget what they are called. When they sell it it's called leca but it's the exact same stuff as geolite or hydroton.  :thumbup:

what do you use sam? perlite, or geolite? your cakes are beautiful.

I have a few different kinds. 3 with Coral pieces, 2 with perlite and 1 with some super secret stuff.(it's looks like cement but basically made out of holes.)
