cakes, right? wait until you can harvest most of them. You might still have small pins later, but go ahead and clear them out at once. That way you can dry them all at once. Also harvesting the whole flush gives you a chance to dunk.
Have fun with them.

I would suggest harvesting the individual mushrooms just as the veil is starting to tear away. If you wait till all of them are mature then you are just causing nutrients to be unnecessarily wasted.

Umm.. no? lol
If the mushrooms are growing, they are not being wasted? You're gaining bulk.

It's only a matter of hours before they mature anyways... a day at max. Picture of cake at that temptation of harvesting... Picture of when you should harvest... Sam

Potency is considered prime just as the veil is tearing. If weight is gained afterwords, it might not have as high a ratio of psilocybin to weight.

Oh btw, that was about 12 hour difference... not sure if it was same cake or not, though... I think it was the same one... sorry.. don't have which picture belongs to which cake on my logs.
And it'd be hard not to damage premature mushrooms if you harvest too early... some mushrooms grow from same base structure, but at vastly different rate. I mean I always have smaller(barely started growing ones) ones that grow attached to larger ones that's dropping spores...
Just something to consider when you get finger itchy for those mushies.

do it all at once. And clear all the pins along with them. Then dunk(no coldshock, IMO) and fruit it again.

cut the cap off and make a print off the early fruiters and then go back and pick them all at once.... kramer says it never hurts to harvest a little early if your not printing
