blue pins??? what?

my casings are near the end, probably 4+ flushes, and there are lots of little blue headed babies coming up!! They dont get very big . I was wondering if they are ok to eat and why are they like that? :confused: Im gonna bury em outside soon but they keep coming up with one or two monsters every now and then  :thumbup:

They are like that because they are aborted pins, or aborts.

This can be caused by the casings not having enough nutrients to finish the growth cycle. My guess is that the casings are aborting those pins and using the saved energy (dunno what to call it) to bring the large mushrooms to maturation.They are fine to eat however doseage would be hard to figure out.

If you are going to bury them outside try to add some straw or poo or nutrient rich water or compost to the hole.

make tea with em they still have psilocybin... it works with cakes but i dont know about about casings. Can u still make tea?

my first flush had a lot of aborts too, but they had the normal orange caps. Is that how the first flush is supposed to be? Theyre mexicans they make LOTS of little mushers
