questions about using buckets
    #3280650 - 10/26/04 07:29 PM (12 years, 11 months ago)

heres the deal, im going bulk.

straw/poo spawned into five gallon buckets. EQs.

questions about using the buckets (i couldnt find much info).

how much substrate should i put in the bucket? ie, how many inches of straw/poo.

how do you heat your buckets?

what have you found is the best way to get proper air exchange?

ALSO: where the hell do you find a pot big enough to fit a poo filled pillow case? LOL

thank you for your input everybody.
peace

i always use buckets, i dont heat in summer if its warm enough.
if its not heat a cupboard or something with whaever u have put buckets at top (heat rises). never have heat source in direct contact with buckets, eg heat air around them, nomatter how cool the heatsource is. just leads to problems.
just layer it 1.5 inch thick. then case with whatever i use cocopeat/verm pasturized in microw for 3 min on high in closed plastic bag leave to cool.

i just put a plastic bag over the top of the bucket. elastic if you like.
i like buckets because they are high - lots of air - doesnt need that much attention. self contained fruiting chambers) only problem small surface area, so washtubs are even better. just fan well and mist once daily.
dont work too hard.
